Inspire Creationz Acetate Cardmaking Class - 1st September

Hello All,

I just thought I would share with you the cards made at our Acetate Class that we held on the 1st September.  Great fun was had by all and included lots of cutting, gluing and sticking.  I just love the card above which was made with the Hunkydory Topaz kit and a sheet of Acetate.

The card below was made to show how acetate can be used as a card blank and as embellishments.  We used the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die to cut out the flower shapes which we then embossed using the Bigshot:

We will certainly be using more acetate on cards now.  Please pop back soon for lots of other designs we are working on

P.S. To book on one of our classes please visit our website www.inspirecreationz.com - all classes must be booked and paid for in advance to secure your place - so book early to avoid disappointment...

Inspire Creationz Stamping Class - August 2012

Happy Bank Holiday everyone - hope you are having a lovely day.

Just thought I would share a quick photo of one of the cards we made on Saturday at our stamping class.  We concentrated on how you can use stamps and inks to create backgrounds, images and use inks more to co-ordinate projects.  A lovely afternoon crating was had by all!!!

I have to say that the Stamping Classes are my favourite as it is so interesting to see how everyone uses inks and stamps slightly differently but the creations are so unique and beautiful!  Already looking forward to the next one where we will be stamping Christmas Cards.

Hope you can pop back soon xxx

All of our class dates can be found here - http://www.inspirecreationz.com/inspirecreationzshop/cat_623236-Craft-Classes.html

The Great British Craft Festival Part 2 - Make & Take with Phill Martin

After all the negative comments surrounding The Great British Craft Festival we can honestly say that the Sunday was a lot better organised that the Saturday. We could get access the the Make & Take sessions and spend time on the stalls.  We thoroughly enjoyed the day and came away with lots of new crafting goodies.

Above is a photo of an Acetate Stepper Card made with the new Hunkydory Christmas Range.  This card was made in the Make & Take session with the totally lovely Phill Martin from Honeypot Crafts and Create & Craft TV.   He was happy to have his photo taken with us:

Thanks Phill for a lovely hour crafting - this session has certainly given us lots of ideas for our classes and using Hunkydory products xxx

Here is a quick picture of one of the "make n takes" we did on Sunday at The Great British Craft Festival with the fabulous Debbi Moore Designs.   She gave us all lots of ideas for out of the ordinary easel cards and stepper cards. Plus we got to play with her topper sheets - really enjoyed the session xxxx

Christmas Crafting with La Blanche Stamps & Dovecraft Vintage Christmas Papers

Two new cards made with my new La Blanche Foam Stamps.

I just couldn't resist the temptation to have a play with the new Dovecraft Vintage Papers and La Blanche Stamps - both worked really well together and Old Olive is my favourite Christmas ink colour.

I have started my Christmas cards in earnest now - last year only started in December so thought I had better get a move on.  I hope you enjoy xxx

Diamond Pocket Fold Card Class

We really enjoyed our Cardmaking Class yesterday using the Hougie Board.  We made the Diamond Pocket Fold Card shown above and a Theatre Card all scored using the Hougie Board to give everyone the opportunity to have a play.

We are really pleased how this card turned out and we all had so much fun.  Below is a picture of the card open - just ready for a sentiment.  We used the Stamping Up Delicate Doilies for the images and the papers are from the Dovecraft Boho Chic range.

First Canvas Artwork Completed!!!

After a horrid day with lots of rain, thunder & lightening, I now have a smile on my face after completing the canvas pictured above.  I am an avid cardmaker but really fancied having a go at creating an altered art canvas.  Armed with Tim Holtz Distressing Inks and my BigShot, I loved how this turned out and enjoyed going round the house trying to find bits and pieces to recycle to finish this off.

This is canvas 1 of 2 at the minute but just need a good light to photograph the second now that it is dry, so please pop back soon

Sweet Fairy Stamped Card - It's Not Purple!

It has been a really fab week crafting with lots of cards and canvases made.  I just wanted to share with you my latest card. Made again with the free stamps from Papercraft Essentials magazine - loving these stamps!  I must buy some more from this range.

Also it is not purple!  I have been really stuck in a purple phase but trying hard to get out now and try new colour combinations.

Papercraft Essentials Free Gift Put To Good Use!!!

I picked up the latest issue of Papercraft Essentials this morning as I loved the stamps that came with the magazine and couldn't wait to have a play.  These stamps are beautiful and a good size for using with Promarkers or Spectrum Noir's.  I am still stuck in my purple phase at the minute and really need to get out but love the colours of this.
If you don't already get this magazine it is well worth a read!

I have also entered this card into the following Challenges - why not join in too:

Happy Father's Day - Cards for the Boys ...

I can share these cards now that they have been safely delivered.  I don't know about you but I really struggle with cards for boys.  It is not just colour options but I find that stamps and embellishments are geared towards female cards so there is not the choice out there.  I came across these Tim Holtz Artistry stamps and just knew I had to have them!!!!  I have not stopped using them since they arrived - worth every penny.

What is your favourite stamp(s) for male cards?

Sizzix Hero Arts Butterflies Set - Not to be Missed!!!!

Hi All,

A quick blog post tonight as I am absolutely shattered after a long few days but wanted to share this card with you.  I have used the new Sizzix Hero Arts Stamp & Punch Butterflies Set to create this card and have to say it is fabulous.

I love the intricate detail on the stamps without you having to use lots of inks and the Die Cutters make light work of cutting out the shapes!!!!!  I would really recommend this set as suitable for many occasions - I have certainly got my moneys worth.

Hope to see you again soon

Wedding Cards - Inspired Colour Scheme

After a recent family wedding, I have been inspired to create a few Wedding cards following the yellow colour scheme as it was sooooooo pretty!  The Bridesmaids were in lemon and all the flowers in the Church and at the Reception were the same - just beautiful!

Here is a quick pic of the flowers that have inspired these cards - not a great shot as my camera on my phone is on it's last legs:

Here are the cards:

Hope you like - please pop back soon to see what creations are coming next .....

Inspired Card Design - More Stamping!

Afternoon Crafters,

I have been having fun today with this new card layout. I need to say right from the start that I have not come up with this design but saw it made on a blog by Papertrey Ink by a very talented designer called Nichole Heady.  Her blog with full details can be found here - http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/

As soon as I saw this made I just had to have a play.  I love the simplicity of the design and the colours I have used, whilst different to hers, still work really well together and are just as effective.

Happy Crafting

Catching Up after the Jubilee Break

Firstly, many apologies for not blogging for a while - things have been a little busy here at Inspire Creationz towers.  Our Shop is going from strength to strength and our range of products has grown significantly.  One of our latest arrivals is the Sizzix Bigshot machines which are not to be missed.

Our classes are also proving very popular with classes booked out now until the middle of July.  Our new dates for August & September will be posted on our website shortly.

Right back to the post - after celebrating the Jubilee, I thought I would share a few of the cards and mini books we made for the occasion. My favourite is the Camper Van card - ideal for Fathers Day or a birthday card.

We promise to keep the blog updated more often now so please pop back soon to see what we have made....

Coffee, Cake & Craft Class - May 2012

Just back from a lovely afternoon crafting - thank you ladies who joined us for our Coffee, Cake & Craft class at our shop inside Leicester Indoor Market.

We had lots of fun and used lots of different techniques - scoring with Hougie Boards, matting & layering, stamping, & distressing.  Great fun was had by all.  I really like this idea of a gift box with matching cards and envelopes inside - simple to make but beautiful to give as a gift!

I will share more pictures from this class shortly.

Hope you enjoy

The Inks Are Out - Stamping Fun...

What a miserable week!  Getting a little fed up now of all this rain.  On the plus side I have been able to get my inks out for some stamping fun!!!!!.  I loved this stamp set as soon as I saw it but hadn't used them - daft I know!  Not any more - I will be using this set lots as it is really versatile and love how this card has turned out.  Really suitable for masculine cards.

Catching Up - Pics from our last Stamping Class

Whilst clearing up my computer pictures, I found the cards we made at our last stamping class and realised I had forgotten to share them here.  I really enjoyed this class as everyone used the same technique but all of the cards were so unique.  We used colour combinations to show that the same card can look so different just by changing the colour of the ink and ribbon.  Right better go and start preparing for our next stamping class - hope you enjoy.....

Inky Fingers & Stamping Fun ...

No matter how many different cardmaking techniques I try, I still come back to stamping so whilst the rain came down I got out my stamps and had a play.  I really didn't have a card in mind I just wanted to create some toppers but as soon as I stamped this image I just had to turn it into this lovely card - loving purple at the minute....

Supplies used - Stampin Up Faith in Natures Stamps, Stampin Up Elegant Eggplant Ink & Dovecraft Purple Ribbon

Catching Up on Blog Posts - Belated Mother's Day Card

Whilst reviewing the blog, I realised I had not shared with you the card I made for my amazing Mum this year.  This is a really simple card but looks so effective.  I used a Dovecraft Circle Punch and different embossing folders to create the effects and very pleased how this has turned out.

More card ideas will follow shortly......

Digi Stamp & Pro-Marker Fun!!!!

Been having lots of fun with Pro-Markers this weekend, trying different styles. I came across this Digi-Stamp from the Digistamp Boutique which is ideal for Pro-Markers. A slash of Stickles and paper flowers is all you need to really make... this design special.

I am taking delivery next week of some of the new Spectrum Noir Alcohol Pens so it will be really interest to see a comparison. I am a real Pro-Marker Fan and I have heard mixed reviews about these pens but thought I would give them a go so will report back with a review for you all later in the week.

Hope you enjoy.....

Sweet Owl Cushions

After Claire posted a picture on Facebook about a "Pirate" cushion she had made, we had orders from our customers so out came the sewing machine and this is the result.  I made 5 but 2 sold straight away before I could take a picture.  I am really pleased with these and had so much fun choosing the fabrics.  Lots more will be made but are available from our shop inside Leicester Indoor Market.
